About our child health work
The first 1,000 days of a child’s life lay the foundation for their lifelong health, development, and well-being. Recognizing this critical window, HENNET is at the forefront of advancing child health in Kenya, with a strong emphasis on immunization advocacy.
Immunization protects children from life-threatening, vaccine-preventable diseases, drastically reducing child mortality and paving the way for healthier futures. Yet, challenges such as vaccine hesitancy, vaccine stock outs and inconsistent access continue to hinder progress. To address these barriers, HENNET collaborates with communities, civil society organizations (CSOs), and partners to ensure that every child receives the protection they deserve.
Why it matters
Our vaccine champions prevented 12,000 missed immunizations in Turkana last year. A community health worker shared: ‘HENNET’s training helped us counter misinformation.’
