HENNET : Who we are

Health NGOs Network (HENNET) was founded in early 2005 as a result of a felt need to set up a forum for NGOs dealing with health issues for purposes of collaboration, sharing of experiences and advocacy. HENNET brings together different health oriented CSOs, with diverse interests, but all having a common vision of a ‘Healthy Kenyan Society’.
A functional and effective HENNET secretariat is hosted at AMREF Kenya Country Office.
HENNET is governed by a board of 11 member organizations elected by HENNET members. These members are I Choose Life (Chair), Safe Water and AIDS project- SWAP, Save the Children, National Organisation of peer Educators – NOPE, Amref Health Kenya (Secretary), Jhpiego, Family Health Options (FHOK), Kenya NGO Alliance Against Malaria (KeNAAM), Association for the Physically Disabled – Kenya (APDK) (Vice chair), GOAL Kenya (Treasurer), Aga Khan Foundation. The board oversees the operations of the HENNET Secretariat which is run by a Director, a Programme Officer, an Advocacy and Communication Officer, a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, a Finance Officer and a Programs Assistant.
